Demolition

Sun River

One of our first major demolition projects was tearing down the SunRiver Sales Office. The building came down in just over 20 minutes — crazy to think it can take months to build something, but only minutes to bring it down. The adrenaline was high from the moment the excavator bucket pushed through the front door (knock knock… this is what happens when you don’t pay your bills). Meanwhile, water was being sprayed on the structure to keep dust and debris under control. It was fast, intense, and definitely a sight to see.

Telegraph Towers-

Telegraph Towers was a challenge, thanks to BA Robinson for doing a great job of putting a building together. It was nerve wracking because we weren’t quite sure how this building was going to come down, it was hard because the building is on a main road and could crash a car, or could go the other direction and fall on the operator. James Jessop is very good at operating and was able to observe the building as he was tearing into the wall on how to take it down. He grabbed pieces one at a time and held them as they fell. It was crazy to see the wall bend so far back and not even break, it was like a flimsy board. Having an audience across the street sure makes you sweat making sure everything goes right, it was like putting on a demolition show for the community. This wall took about 5 hours to rip down.
